Applix Network was founded in Reykjavik, Iceland, with the vision of democratizing access to high-performance computing resources. Our journey began in 2021, when a group of AI enthusiasts recognized the growing need for scalable and cost-effective computational power in the AI industry. Initially, Applix Network operated within the private sector, focusing on providing its own GPU resources for AI model training and other intensive computational tasks.

Early Operations

In our early days, we assembled a robust infrastructure of approximately 400 high-performance GPUs. These GPUs were dedicated to supporting AI research and development, enabling us to provide substantial computational power for complex AI models. During this period, we gained valuable insights into the challenges and limitations associated with centralized computing models.

Realization of Limitations

As demand for AI computations grew, we faced significant obstacles related to scalability, cost, and accessibility. Centralized data centers proved to be expensive to maintain and scale, creating barriers for smaller entities and researchers who required high-performance computing resources but lacked the necessary capital investment. This realization prompted us to explore alternative solutions that could overcome these limitations.

Transition to Decentralization

In early 2023, inspired by the potential of decentralized technology, we embarked on a transformative journey to decentralize our computing infrastructure. We envisioned a platform where individual GPU owners could contribute their resources to a global network, creating a distributed supercomputer capable of handling the most demanding AI tasks. By integrating blockchain technology, we aimed to ensure secure, transparent, and efficient management of computational resources and payments.

Development of Applix Network

Our development process involved extensive research and collaboration with experts in blockchain and AI. We designed a decentralized platform that leverages the Solana blockchain to provide secure and efficient transactions. Smart contracts were implemented to facilitate trustless interactions between GPU providers and users, ensuring that all transactions are transparent and tamper-proof.

Public Launch Preparation

With the network infrastructure firmly in place, we are now preparing for the public launch of Applix Network. Our primary goal is to create a vibrant, collaborative ecosystem that democratizes access to high-performance computing. Initially, users will be able to join the network and rent GPU power through a simple Google form. Our decentralized application (DApp), scheduled for launch in late June or early July 2024, will provide a seamless and intuitive user experience.

Future Plans

As part of our growth strategy, we plan to apply for the NVIDIA Inception Program as soon as our website is live. This program will provide us with additional resources and support to further enhance our platform. Additionally, our token launch on June 12th, 2024, will play a crucial role in building a robust and incentive-driven ecosystem, encouraging more users to participate in and benefit from our network.
